Students with a Joint Honours program should attend the ceremony associated with the first program alphabetically by Program Plan Code, not by program name.

  • Example: If you are in a Joint Honours program for Global Development Studies (DEVS) and Economics (ECON), you would be assigned to Ceremony 1 for DEVS instead of Ceremony 9 for ECON

Graduate Ceremony Information

Please review arrival times, venue expectations, and ceremony policies before Convocation. To support the comfort of all attendees, graduates and guests are encouraged to refrain from wearing scented products.

Gaspard and Sons, in partnership with the Alma Mater Society (AMS), provides graduation regalia, including hoods and gowns, for Ä¢¹½´«Ã½â€™s graduates.

Online ordering is available through the portal from September 1 to November 8.

Need to rent on the day?

Same-day rentals are available for graduates who did not pre-order. Please bring your Student Card or piece of Government ID. Gaspard accepts Visa, Mastercard, Visa Debit and prepaid credit cards.

Please note that same-day rental prices are higher than pre-order prices and stock may be limited.

Optional traditional attire for Indigenous graduates

Indigenous graduates and faculty may choose to wear traditional Indigenous attire (First Nations, Metis, or Inuit), in lieu of a gown and hood, at convocation ceremonies.

All graduates who choose to wear traditional regalia, or wish to receive a gift, . This is to inform the event organizers.

Ä¢¹½´«Ã½ acknowledges the diversity of Indigenous peoples, communities, and nations. As such it is recognized that traditional Indigenous attire may vary.

  • Due to capacity and seating limits, graduates who have RSVP'd are limited to two (2) guests.
  • Graduates are responsible for sharing tickets with their guests. 
  • Starting November 17, guest tickets will be sent to the your Ä¢¹½´«Ã½'s email address from email@boxoffice.theisabel.ca

We are committed to working with you to ensure appropriate supports and arrangements are in place for your graduation experience.

Celebrate your accomplishment and be ready to display your diploma with a pre-ordered degree frame.

by October 20 and have it ready for pick-up at the Isabel Bader Centre following your Convocation Ceremony, December 7–11, 2026.

Please note: Frames must be picked up at your scheduled Convocation Ceremony and will not be available for purchase onsite.

  • Bring your student card or another form of government-issued photo ID.
  • Leave personal belongings at home or with family members whenever possible.
  • Doors open 90 minutes before your ceremony to allow time for registration, gown pickup, and graduate assembly.
    • 10 am ceremony: arrive by 8:30 am
    • 2 pm ceremony: arrive by 12:30 pm
    • 3 pm ceremony: arrive by 1:30 pm
    • 6 pm ceremony: arrive by 4:30 pm
  • Ceremonies are approximately 75 minutes in length.
  • Graduates can expect periods of standing and walking. Comfortable footwear is recommended.

Note: A limited number of same-day gown rentals may be available please be sure to preorder your hood and gown by November 7.

Please review the list of prohibited items before arriving at the ceremony. The following items are not permitted inside the venue:

  • Noisemakers, including air horns, cowbells, drums, megaphones, musical instruments, and electronic noisemakers.
  • Aerosol cans, including silly string.
  • Liquids, except personal water bottles. Additional exceptions may be made for accessibility needs.
  • Large signs, banners, or flags that may obstruct the view of other guests.
  • Pamphlets, handouts, or other materials intended for distribution.
  • Items that could cause injury to others or damage to the facility.
  • Pets, except approved service animals.

 

Coat Check

A complimentary coat check is available for all graduates and guests at the Isabel Bader Centre. 
 
Please check any coats or personal belongings upon arrival, as this will be your only opportunity to securely store items before the ceremony begins. Our welcome team will be happy to direct you to the coat check area.

Capture the moment with professional Convocation photos from PhotoVisions. 

Photographers will be available before the ceremony for individual headshots and during the ceremony as graduates cross the stage. After Convocation, PhotoVisions will email graduates at their Ä¢¹½´«Ã½'s email address with information on viewing and purchasing photos.

Photo packages are optional and range from $39 to $125.

Event Photography and Videography

Please note that photography and videography will be taking place at Convocation Ceremonies for promotional and archival purposes. The photographs and recordings may be used in applications including but not limited to print, broadcast, electronic, digital, and social media, for promoting, publicizing, or explaining Ä¢¹½´«Ã½â€™s or its activities and for administrative, educational, or research purposes.
